The Project Coordinator will report to the Director of Whitefish Child and Family Services.
The preferred candidate for the Project Coordinator position will be willing to oversee members of the projects workforce team, develop time lines, write proposals, create schedules, develop project strategies. and have excellent time manage skills to ensure goals are met on time. The Project coordinator will be required to utilize spreadsheets to track budgets, dates, bookkeeping, and other information; he/she will also be required to organize contracts, financial files, reports, and invoices; he/she may also be responsible for ordering supplies.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Prepare and submit monthly reports on program developments and progress to the Director and the of Whitefish Child and Family Services

2. Ensure the projects meet legislated requirements of OHSA standards.

3. Proposal Writing

4. Develop and ensure the consistent adherence to the “Projects” program standards for the safety and security

5. Promote, support, and maintain a network of resource people with a focus of utilizing resources within the First Nation community.

6. Communicate the “Projects” program services to agencies and community if requested by the Director.

7. Ensure the safekeeping of personnel information.

8. Apply performance measures and implement improvement requirements and techniques to meet program goals and standards as directed by the Director.

9. Prepare narrative reports and briefing reports for recommendations to the Director.

10. Participate in job performance in accordance with WFLFN policies and procedures.

11. Adhere to and ensure all reporting obligations under the program’s funding arrangements policies and procedures are met.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong leadership skills
- The ability to negotiate agreements and mediate disputes
- The ability to work well under pressure and make responsible decisions quickly.
- Experience in supervisory skills
- Knowledge of community resources
- Knowledge of Indigenous culture and language is an asset
- Ability to maintain and respect confidentiality

Additional Duties as Required:
The Project Coordinator is a key team member and may be asked to carry out additional duties and activities related to the effectiveness and successful implementation of the project development.

Business Administration Diploma and at least 3 years of related experience or Related certificate and 5 years related experience.

Additional Requirements:
- Current and valid Alberta driver’s license; own vehicle or access to vehicle.
- criminal record check
- Current First Aide certificate
- Ability to speak and/or understand the Cree language a strong asset.
